Hugely successful zombie-bashing board game series Zombicide is all set to welcome a new addition to the family, with publisher CMON announcing that Zombicide: Invader will come to Kickstarter on Tuesday 10 April.
Having got medieval with 2015’s Zombicide: Black Plague and its expansions, the franchise heads into sci-fi territory for Invasion, with one to six players battling Xenos – aliens who have been infected with the zombie virus. According to CMON, survivors will be either Civilians or Soldiers, each with their own specialised skills; the first player character to be revealed being Baraka, a gun-toting rich girl who joined the military for the challenge.
A co-operative game like its predecessors, Zombicide: Invader will see survivors mounting rescue missions, recovering vital data and unveiling dark secrets …as well as gunning down hordes of Xenos, natch. Slotting infected extraterrestrials won’t be a cakewalk even with lasers, however, with CMON teasing that your Xenos opponents will use ‘nasty tactics not encountered in previous Zombicide games’.
