Famed composer Alan Menken is to lead a concert of Disney hits at the Royal Albert Hall in October titled “Disney’s Broadway Hits”. The concert is set to feature a plethora of much-loved songs from some of Disneys classic movies, and it will be the first time that The Hunchback Of Note Dame will been performed in Europe.
The West End cast of Aladdin will be perform alongside the BBC Concert Orchestra on October 23 for a one-night only extravaganza, with Keith Lockhart conducting. The director of events at the Royal Albert Hall, Lucy Noble stated, “For the first time in Europe, audiences will be able to enjoy all of Disney’s Broadway hits in one incredible concert, in the company of a world-class symphony orchestra and a galaxy of stars, led by the legend, Alan Menken.”
Alan Menkin is most popularly known for his scores and involvement in some of the biggest classic animations to come from Disney such as: The Little Mermaid, Beauty & The Beast, Aladdin, Hercules, Enchanted, Tangled, Pocahontas, Home On The Range and The Hunchback Of Notre Dame. He is also known for his work on Broadway hits such as The Little Shop Of Horrors, A Christmas Carol and Sister Act.
More recently Mr Menkin will be showing his musical talents with the upcoming movie Sausage Party and bringing Disneys latest animation to live action movie Beauty & The Beast staring Harry Potter’s Emma Watson.
