Uwe Boll’s Facebook followers will have seen his latest video update, which he sarcastically tagged with the message, “as you see —-i’m in a very very good mood.”
Still, you know it’s not going to be a happy smiley Uwe Boll when he titles the video: “fuck you all”.
It seems the Kickstarter campaign for Rampage 3 didn’t go so well and he’s not happy, as the message below the YouTube clip makes very clear…
“never will do crowdfunding again …. thanks to the few they supported rampage 3 -.-.—the rest can fuck their mothers incl. KICKSTARTER and all the idiots who talked me into bullshit like this.”
Don’t feel too worried about him, though. He’s still got “enough money to play golf until I am dead.”
This December, Marvel will be releasing the Avenger’s Arena, a comic that has an oddly familiar theme if you’re a fan of The Hunger Games trilogy, or of the more dated Battle Royale manga and live action movie.
The premise: 16 super-emotional, super-human teenagers are dumped on a deserted island and told to fight it out – to the death – until only one remains.
“An all-new series! All-new cast! All-new ways to die! This is Avengers Arena NOW!”
The comic’s creators, Kevin Walker (Artist) and Dennis Hopeless (Writer) ensure that no character is ‘cannon fodder’, every character serves a purpose and brings something to the ultimate story. Of course a few characters will be killed off early, but the idea is that every character has a story to tell, and this links in with the greater picture.
A tip of the hat to the Battle Royale poster made by the Avengers with the same
black/white style drawings including several characters already ‘wiped out’ of the list.
The Hunger Games and Battle Royale both conveyed the difficult stages of a young adults life, especially when in extreme situations, but how will angsty, confused, unsure-of-their-place-in-the-world teens that have superpowers fare in a the same kind of deadly situation? We can only hope to find out.
Today, Monday 10th September, MVM entertainment is releasing the first season of Rosario + Vampire, a 13 part anime that follows the life of unfortunate human Tsukune Aono as he is transferred into a school purely for demons! Now he must try and convince the other class members that he is not a mere mortal, but somehow he doesn’t go very far before his blood attracts some unwanted attention, from the adorable vampire Moka Akashiya!
Manga UK is also releasing the complete series of Princess Resurrection, an anime consisting of 26 episodes. Hiro Hiyorimi had recently moved to Sasanaki City to meet his sister. His visit is cut short, however when he is crushed by construction beams and dies. But the next thing he knows, he’s awake and in a hospital bed. Having seen a mysterious figure before his death, she suddenly starts appearing everywhere, addressing Hiro as her servant.
The mysterious woman reveals herself to be Hime, a princess of a monstrous kingdom who has the power to raise the dead in order to create an immortal warrior for their own protection. The anime follows the newly undead warrior as he tries to protect Hime from her own demise at the hands of her jealous siblings, who are all competing for the Monster Kingdom’s throne!
Finally, Manga entertainment has finally spoken out about the faulty Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt DVD’s that were released. See The Anime News Network, for more information on this.
